An audio and photography exhibition of life in Yarm. Meet the residents capturing what life in the town and its community is all about.

David Hunter

David is a former car salesman with a passion for vintage buses. A familiar face to many on Yarm High Street, he often drinks in the Black Bull and enjoys watching the world go by on the bench outside.

Robert Andrews

Rob remembers growing up in a small market town different to the Yarm of today, but now enjoys a quiet retirement bee-keeping.

Maureen Almond

A professional poet who is both passionate and knowledgeable about the subject of Yarm, she writes most of her work on the sofa in the home she shares with her husband.

Peter Monck

Peter has been the Mayor of Yarm three times and is still a town councillor who has been a huge part of the High Street development.


The McQuillans

Christine, daughter Elizabeth and grandson Jacob are three generations of the large
McQuillan family, who have lived in Yarm for over 30 years.

Avril Rhodes

Has lived in Yarm since 1989.

About the Photographer

Pete Robinson is a former Royal Air Force photographer with 15 years experience in the field of photography. Having completed his extensive photography training at the prestigious Defence School of Photography at RAF Cosford, Pete founded Eye of the Tyne Photography after leaving the RAF.

Pete’s photography with both the RAF and Eye of the Tyne has been featured in many national publications and advertising campaigns. He has also photographed
many high profile events including Royal visits and the Edinburgh Royal Military Tattoo.

One of his portraits was recently selected to be part of the British Journal of Photography - Portrait of Britain exhibition. This is a groundbreaking nationwide
exhibition, showing the face of modern Britain. Pete's work was displayed on digital screens nationwide during September 2016.
