Quayside Seaside

We’ve got our fingers crossed for a sunny may bank holiday here in the North East. Our iconic quayside has been transformed into a seaside paradise for the summer, complete with golden sand, pastel-striped beach huts, deck chairs and palm trees. Relax, soak up the sun and enjoy the stunning quayside views.

This is Tomorrow Festival

Festival lovers of the North East, this one’s for you! A brand new open-air festival comes to Newcastle Quayside this weekend. The line-up of This is Tomorrow includes the award-winning band, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Little comets and Sam Fender.

Proper Food and Drink Festival

26th May – 28th May / Bents Park, South Shields, NE33 3BW

Bank holidays are for great food and drink. If you’re a foodie, then take a trip to the Proper Food Festival and taste all that the North East’s food producers have to offer.

Whitley Bay Carnival

25th-26th May / Spanish City Plaza, Whitley Bay, NE26 1BG

One of the North East coast’s most colourful events returns. There will be a carnival ball, plenty of entertainment and a parade – all just a stone’s throw from the beach.

Northumberland County Show

28th May / Bywell Hall, Northumberland, NE43 7AB

One of the largest day shows in the country, the Northumberland County Show showcases the best of Northumberland. With over 350 stands to check out and a food hall filled with delicious street food and local produce; as well as crafts, family fun and chance to learn about the region’s agriculture.
