We Won! - National Award for ‘Commitment to the Community’

On Thursday 14th May both our Head of Corporate Social Responsibility and Divisional Branch Manager headed down to London's Mayfair to attend the Charity Times 2015 'Better Society' awards.

We are delighted to announce we were successful and received the prestigious national award for our strategic and sustained work within the North East's communities.

The award, given to companies who "actively aid and engage with local communities and deploy available resources to create long lasting impact", was judged by a panel of experts from the charitable and voluntary sector.

Natalie Falkous, head of corporate social responsibility at NBS, said:

"As part of our commitment to mutuality, we've always worked hard to support the communities in which we operate. Our continued effort over recent years has resulted in the delivery of real and relevant results, which provide tangible benefits for thousands of real people in our local communities.

"We have reached several milestones in relation to our work recently and winning this national award gives great recognition to this, as well as support we have received from our staff and customers, which is a huge honour for the Society."
