Early repayment charges (ERCs) are only applicable on certain mortgage products and these are detailed in the product terms and conditions.
If you have a product where ERCs are payable, they are charged on any capital payments over £499.99 made to your mortgage up until the maturity date of your current mortgage product.

If your product has an early repayment charge (ERC) you can pay up to a maximum of £499.99 per calendar month without incurring ERCs. There is no limit to the amount you can overpay if your product does not have any ERCs.
This is the administration fee for removing the Society’s Legal Charge from your property at the Land Registry – these were previously known as “Exit Fees”.

If we hold your title deeds, we can provide copies of the relevant pages, however there may be a small charge for this. If we hold your deeds we can also arrange for you to view the document at your nearest branch.
If your title deeds have been dematerialised, we are unable to provide a copy of your title deeds. Dematerialisation is a technical term meaning paper deeds certificates are replaced with electronic records of ownership held at the Land Registry. Since 2003 England and Wales deeds have been dematerialised.
Yes, if your buildings insurance is paid with your monthly mortgage payment then you should contact us at your earliest convenience.
If you pay your insurer directly then please contact your provider.
If you wish to amend the term of your mortgage, convert from interest only to repayment, choose a new mortgage scheme or enquire about further lending then you should contact us to discuss your requirements with a mortgage adviser.

If you wish to let the property on which the mortgage is secured, then you must obtain the Society’s consent. We will issue you with a lettings request form, which you should complete and return to us. If we grant you consent, your interest rate may be increased and an administration charge will apply.

You may receive an information pack from the provider for your endowment policy approximately 4 – 6 weeks before maturity. You should sign the relevant documents and forward them to us at: Newcastle Building Society, Principal Office, 1 Cobalt Park Way, Cobalt Business Park, NE28 9EJ.
