Newcastle Building Society has donated £20,000 to the Disasters Emergency Committee’s Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal.
As a Society we are committed to the people and places in our region, but there are occasionally events elsewhere of such proportion that we want to offer what support we can.
The recent earthquakes in Tukey and Syria is one such event, so we have donated £20,000 to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Turkey-Syria Earthquake Appeal.
DEC charities and their local partners were among the first responders providing urgent aid. Their immediate priorities include access to healthcare, shelter for those who have lost their homes, heating in safe spaces, blankets, warm clothes, and ensuring people have food and clean water.
