Financial advice you can count on, wherever you are

Telephone and video chat services – your questions answered

You don’t have to come into a branch to have a friendly, jargon-free chat with a Newcastle Financial Adviser.

New telephone and video chat mean you can access financial advice you can trust from the comfort of your own home.

These uncertain times mean many people are facing new financial challenges and changing circumstances. Knowing that you have the right plans in place for yourself and your family has become more important than ever.

That’s why Newcastle Financial Advisers have introduced new ways to reach more people. Telephone and video sessions mean everyone can give their finances the attention they deserve – even if you can’t make it into a branch.

David Mitchell, one of the advisers at our subsidiary company Newcastle Financial Advisers, answers some of the questions he is commonly asked.

Q. Is the advice available to new customers?

A. Yes. You don’t have to be an existing customer of Newcastle Building Society or Newcastle Financial Advisers to access professional support. In fact, you’re welcome to ask for advice even if you don’t take up any of our recommendations.

Q. Do you require a minimum investment to access a Financial Adviser?

A. No. However much you have and whatever your priorities, we are here for you. Unlike some UK banks and building societies, no minimum investment is required before you can access our support.

We are open to all because we believe everyone should have access to financial advice.

Q. What about fees?

A. There are no fees up front. You are only charged if you go ahead with a solution we recommend and all charges are clearly explained.

Q. And is there any obligation to take products offered?

A. Absolutely not. After we’ve explained our carefully considered recommendations, we will always give you the space and time you need to think them through.

There is no obligation to follow the advice we provide and no pressure to make decisions. We believe in building long term relationships with our customers, built on mutual trust and openness.

Q. What kind of financial advice is offered by phone and online?

A. We’re offering all of the advice we provide in branch, to help customers at all stages of life. We can help you reach your financial goals or we can provide guidance and assurance around plans you already have.

Pensions, investments, life and income protection insurance, inheritance tax planning – you can control them all in one place. Advice and recommendations are personalised to fit you as your circumstances and markets change.

Our new and convenient appointment options mean you don’t need to be close to a branch to access expert support.

Q. Will telephone and video call options continue to be available even when social distancing is no longer required?

A. We hope so. We are exploring how to make this a permanent feature so local customers have a choice of ways to talk to us. This will also mean we can reach new customers across the UK.

Q. Will I receive the same level of service at home as I would in a branch?

A. Yes. Customers on the phone and online can expect the same friendly faces and personal approach we’re renowned for in branch. Our full team of financial advisers from branches across the North East are on hand to share their vast experience.

We’re following our usual robust procedures to provide the same products and trustworthy advice as always.  Our knowledge, guidance and reassurance are helping customers to navigate this challenging time.

And because we are part of The Openwork Partnership, one of the UK’s largest financial advice networks, we can offer you a wide choice of products and high-quality service.
